Good Evening .... We have been up in Canada for the past 24 hours and I did NOT bring my laptop (a nice break).
We DID go to Fairfield park with the dogs our first night...they LOVED it ! Just the fresh grass and to run free after day of traveling.
I did not post on August 12, 2009, it was a late night. So here is the journal for that day...
It was a great day. We woke up about 8 am, nice to be settled here for the next 6 days.
We had some phone calls and thing to take care of due to the 'mishap' with the truck. We made toast and scrambled eggs for breakfast and enjoyed a relaxing morning. About 11 am we took a walk with the dogs to a nearby trail 'To the Beach'
What a nice hike up and down the fern and evergreen lined trail. More blackberries to eat along the way too !
We got to the lookout over Samish Bay and it was beautiful. I wished I had brought my Nikon camera. I have only been using my little Canon for this blog.
We climbed up on a big rock overlooking the bay and Mark spotted several starfish !!!! I have posted a photo of one of the purple ones.
Later, we went to Josh and Nicolette's for dinner. We arrived about 5 p.m. We are so excited to be at their new home!

With two plum trees, a hazelnut tree in the front yard.
Two different apple trees and a pear tree, blueberries and raspberries in the back yard.
Josh had a wonderful dinner planned for the 4 of us.
Cheese, Crackers, apples, grapes , Smoked Salmon, a wonderful fresh dill spread....and THAT was just the appetizer.
He then grilled some Salmon and beef. He served creamed corn with that. For dessert he grilled pineapple and made another wonder dip, served with strawberries.
Delicious ! It was so nice to just sit outside and talk the night away ....
Well, we had to go, it was going on 10 pm and we had to get up early to catch the Ferry from Ana Cortes....
