Mt. Hood to Portland

Today is the day we see 'The Kids' :)
We woke up at Mt. Hood Village RV Park, after such a peaceful night.
Just beautiful ! Mark took the bikes off the rack and we had a nice morning bike ride,
a bit chilly at first....49 degrees when we headed out ~ Can you say "ReFrEsHiNg " ?
We hit the road to Portland about 10 am....Met Daniel downtown at Lloyd Center, left
the RV there and headed with him to Tasty and Sons...yum-0 !
There we met Maya and Anthony. We had a nice long brunch...some amazing foods
Like: A Tasty Muffin : Tasty muffin with fried egg, pickled beets, heirloom tomato, beecher's
cheddar cheese, red onion and mixed greens :)
Everyone had to get to work, we said good bye and would meet up tonight. Take Maya to
Daniel's place for dinner.
So, off to our RV to check in to our "home" for the week....Janzten RV Park at Janzten Beach.
We are in spot #928 :) (like our Area code)
Got settled and hung out, took a walk, also checked out the Home Depot that is within walking distance... Mark got everything he needed to wash the truck and RV windows :)
We left at about 6:45 to head to Dan and Maya's to go with Maya to Lovely's Fifty Fifty.
Our reservation was at 7:45.
Saw Dan at the Salad station. Happy guy !
What a wonderful place....very busy too.
We ordered a Margherita Pizza half with sausage. Mark and I shared a Romaine Salad with Cesar dressing and fresh parmesan cheese. Delish !
For Maya....what ever Dan decided to 'send her way' . At one point she went back to where he was working and put her hand on a fresh peach and said "This is mine"...soooo what did he do? He quartered the peach and made this wonderful dish for her ! Oh my !
We had fresh ice cream too. I had Blackberry Buttermilk. Maya and Mark had the soft serve Salted Carmel and Milk Chocolate...it was wonderful !
Maya drove us back to their house ...it was after 10pm we decided to head to the RV and
go to bed. Soooo full soooo tired !

From Weed California to Mt. Hood Oregon

We didn't leave Weed til about 8:30 am. Woke up, had coffee, took the dogs for a walk, just gorgeous 57 degrees on our walk. I love it !
We headed out on Hwy 97 (kind of a change of plan) after talking with the camp host, Susan. She said "Get off 5 and enjoy the ride" Crater Lake along the way, and the road is quiet and scenic. So, we took her advice. Glad we did.
Sooo lovely. Got some 'leaving Mt. Shasta' photos.
We drove through Klamath Falls, around Klamath Lake on to Bend.
Stopped outside Bend for lunch, just sandwiches in the RV, walked the pups.
Then through Redmond and on to Mt. Hood. A long day of driving for Mark. We made it to Mt.Hood Village RV Park :) Yeah ! Very nice....a great 'pull through' spot. We barbecued steaks, potatoes and had a salad. Walked the dogs ....no leash, they loved it ! it was their walk ! Well, tomorrow on to Portland to see 'the kids' ! Can't wait ! It's been tooooo long !
Good night now ...

From Santa Nella to Weed...

Easy drive today...Easy for me to say ... I didn't drive !
We woke at 5:00 had coffee and took a walk with the pups.
Batten down the hatches and we left just as the sun was coming up over San Luis Reservoir, 6:22 am.
A beautiful sunrise...and peaceful morning.
Got on Hwy 5 and headed North. Not sure where we will end up for the night.
But, we know it will be about a 5 or 6 hour drive...
Stopped at The Olive Pit bought some ' Olive stuff '
Drove past Shasta Lake and into Weed, California...Home for the night.
Perfect weather...gorgeous views :)
Parked the RV and walked to lunch at Dos Amigos.
Back to the RV Park to just sit out and relax.....

Ore-Gone!

ORE-GONE !

Well, Good Morning !
This, hopefully will be my first post of many, in the next coming weeks.
We left Lake Havasu yesterday, Sunday August 14th, 2011 at 7 am.
We drove all day, stopping once, off the Hwy. in Bakersfield, Ca and had PB&J in the RV for lunch.
Still a bit warm, after all it was Southern California !
Jack had a bit of an upset tummy, and puked right next to Mark's right foot as he was driving the RV. I got the trash can and some paper towel and cleaned it up.
Poor guy.
We made it to Santa Nella to camp at San Luis Reservoir, a State Recreation Area.
It was lovely. Still a bit warm about 90, but, it cooled to 68 degrees overnight.
We set up camp. Had Hot dogs and beans for dinner...took a walk around the reservoir and back to the RV. We sat outside for sometime. A lovely breeze and just peaceful, watching the cows graze int he distant fields.
The pups played and we discussed our travels for tomorrow....
Where will we end up ?
