An Autumn Road Trip...

Happy Fall y'all !
We have been wanting to take an Arizona Autumn road trip for quite sometime.
We made plans in September to travel to Sedona for a few nights.
So, Here we goooooo.....

We left Lake Havasu early Tuesday morning and drove through Seligman Arizona on old Rt.66, stopped for coffee at a funky little souvenir/coffee shop.
I also had to mail something, so fun to stop at the little local Seligman post office.
Once we got to Flagstaff, we went shopping at New Frontiers, bought some things for a picnic lunch and off we went for our drive.

We took US route 180, we drove for 10.8 miles. Somewhere in that time, we stopped and pulled into the forest for a picnic lunch.... It was quite chilly, I had to change from my desert clothes to Jeans and a sweatshirt ! Ahhhhhh some cool Autumn weather !
We continued on to FR 151 for 12 miles to Forest Service Rd. 418 we went 1.4 miles to Forest Service Rd. 552...to Lockett Meadow below Sugarloaf Peak.
These are some photos from the meadow and our journey along the way.
I had heard of Lockett Meadow for years, but had never been. It was so pretty with all the golden aspens glistening in the sunlight....loads of Aspen leaves on the ground like gumdrops. I love the sound of the Aspen trees blowing in the wind.
They are truly one of my favorite trees....

"Scamp"

We spent the weekend at our mountain getaway. We arrived Saturday afternoon. We had some projects to work on. Mark, working on replacing some laundry area cabinets and I planned to make an Autumn dessert of Apple Cobbler, and also work on a strand of "Rag Lights" for our bedroom.

I was hoping to see "Scamp", the cat waiting to greet me when I arrived on Saturday, but no sign of the kitty.
All the food and milk and water dishes were empty. I felt sad. I thought for sure she would be there.
I called out...."Here kitty, kitty..." but she didn't come. Throughout the afternoon, I kept calling.
Saturday evening, as well.

Sunday morning, Mark started his project and I started on the dessert for our Sunday dinner....
I went to put on my apron and low and behold.....I looked out the front door and there she was !!!!!
"Scamp" is back !!!!!
Oh she had a feast ! Canned milk, dry food, canned food and water !!!! She is so sweet, so friendly and so huggable !

Until next time,
Take Care

I'm back bloggin'.....

Hi !
I have had a few requests that I continue with my blog, and to tell you the truth, I have missed it.
As silly as it is....I have.
Soooooo what I will do, is make posts now and then, basically writing and posting photos of 'my life'.
Day to day, trips etc.
So, with that being said....

As some of you know, we have a little place in The Hualapai Mountains in Kingman AZ.
We enjoy going there every other weekend or so. It gets Mark away from work, and we enjoy the little bit of
seasons we get up there....both of us being born and raised in Illinois, we DO miss our seasons !
Raking leaves in the Fall, and snow in the winter and cooler summers than Havasu has to offer.

Well, we went up over Labor Day weekend and worked on some projects, stayed a few days. Tuesday morning when were leaving,
Mark called me into the garage to show me what he thought was a Bob Cat Kit in the rafters....well, it was gone, we assumed the cat ran out. So, we closed up the garage and headed for Havasu.
When I returned this past Saturday, I pulled up and heard a cat meowing coming from the garage !!!!
Yep ! 10 DAYS LATER !!!!!
I unlocked the door and out ran the kitty... BUT, not very far, as I walked over to it, it came closer to me :-)
Sooo sweet and loving....rubbing and meowing all the time.
I went inside the cabin and got the kitty a packet of dog food, milk, then a can of tuna and some water.
It was Feasting to say the least.
I will keep you updated on "Scamp"
It just kind of stuck, the name,, and I looked up the definition and it seems to fit:
"Mischievous, in a likeable, amusing way, a wicked or worthless person, a rogue"
'Til next time...

Take Care and remember...
