An Autumn Road Trip...

Happy Fall y'all !
We have been wanting to take an Arizona Autumn road trip for quite sometime.
We made plans in September to travel to Sedona for a few nights.
So, Here we goooooo.....

We left Lake Havasu early Tuesday morning and drove through Seligman Arizona on old Rt.66, stopped for coffee at a funky little souvenir/coffee shop.
I also had to mail something, so fun to stop at the little local Seligman post office.
Once we got to Flagstaff, we went shopping at New Frontiers, bought some things for a picnic lunch and off we went for our drive.

We took US route 180, we drove for 10.8 miles. Somewhere in that time, we stopped and pulled into the forest for a picnic lunch.... It was quite chilly, I had to change from my desert clothes to Jeans and a sweatshirt ! Ahhhhhh some cool Autumn weather !
We continued on to FR 151 for 12 miles to Forest Service Rd. 418 we went 1.4 miles to Forest Service Rd. 552...to Lockett Meadow below Sugarloaf Peak.
These are some photos from the meadow and our journey along the way.
I had heard of Lockett Meadow for years, but had never been. It was so pretty with all the golden aspens glistening in the sunlight....loads of Aspen leaves on the ground like gumdrops. I love the sound of the Aspen trees blowing in the wind.
They are truly one of my favorite trees....
