Hittin' the road today....

Good Morning ...Happy Friday to Everyone !

As we wake to a Sunny, cool morning here in Napa Valley...

We will be hitting the road here shortly and driving along Hwy. 1 and 101 up the coast to

Benbow California. It's up near Garberville.

I wanted to write this morning to say, I tried to post photos along with my Blog last night, but

they didn't upload next to the blog like I had hoped.

Wine tour and Day in St. Helena....

What a wonderful day in "Napa Valley" ! It started out by waking at 8:30 am ! Yep !

We slept in. We woke to a beautiful morning of overcast skies and a lovely 62 degrees.

We had some coffee and showered and hit the road by 10:15 to be at Beringer Winery by 10:45 am.

Our tour was scheduled at 11 am.

We met Michele at the carriage house and she poured us a 'generous' glass of 2007

Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc. As we drank our wine we walked along on our tour to the

Sauvignon vineyard. Past the Rhine House and into the Vineyard, where Michele then opened another bottle of wine, and poured us each a glass of a 2006 Sbragia Limited-Release Chardonnay. Delicious ! As we drank this glass she told us about the grapes and the winery. We then walked to the cave and had a Barrel tasting of a Cabernet

Sauvignon. Yes ! Right from the barrel !

We sat at the table and she poured us each two more glasses of wine.

All this wine before NOON ! Oh my !

It was a great tour. We recommend it to anyone who visits the Valley.

After the tour we went to Brix for lunch. A lovely restaurant, with outdoor seating that overlooks a vineyard. The Wine Tour train passed by.

After lunch, Mark wanted to buy some cheese. We went to Dean and Delucca. Then to a little store that makes and sells oil oil. It was tucked away down some back roads on a dead end street.

We drove through The State Park, We drove up to The Castle, also known as Castello di Amorosa...

It took 15 years to build the place and it's been open for just 2 years.

We picked one black berries on the side of the road, We had a cup of coffee at Calistoga Roasters.

We came back and took the dogs to a park where they could run. Back to the RV to get ready for dinner.

A wonderful day in Napa Valley.....

Good Morning from Wine Country !

Good Morning !

Waking up to overcast skies in Calistoga...yeah ! Nice break from Havasu's Hot heat !

We sure slept well waking up to 62 degrees this morning ! Nice !

I have more photos to post so I thought I would write another Blog this morning and post those photos from yesterday.

A lot planned today. Soooooooooooo, On with our day !

Yosemite National Park to Napa !

Hi !

We hit the road from Bishop at 7:00 this morning.

A long and winding road through Yosemite.

The roads were filled with streams, and deer and beautiful mountains.

It's been a long time since we have been through Yosemite ( Thirty years! )

As we drove, we both remembered things we had seen and done before, rocky areas we had hiked.

Did you know, we did almost this same road trip through California in 1980 ?

Yep ! In our little Gold Toyota Corolla Wagon !Camping along the way.

Great memories of that trip !

Well, today, we didn't stay the night in Yosemite, but we enjoyed the view and took a walk along a stream. Found some huge Pine cones...

Got into Calistoga at 5 p.m. Found our Park for the night and went to dinner downtown.

Can't pass up the food in Napa !

Amazing !

Tonight it was Flat Iron Restaurant. We walked the downtown area and enjoyed the cool temperatures ! Burrrrrrr....I should have brought a jacket tonight.

Well, it's late and it's been a very long day.

Tomorrow....Beringer Winery....Can't wait !

Good Evening from Bishop, CA.

We just enjoyed a wonderful gift tonight.

This beautiful Sunset........

We arrived here in Bishop about 3 p.m. and found our Campground with no problem.

Disconnected 'the truck', I took the dogs for a nice walk by the stream, Jorge enjoyed the ducks !

An early dinner at a lovely Japanese Restaurant.

Another walk and then this painted sky for us to enjoy and dream about.

How lovely they are....so huge and with snow !

Looking forward to where we will camp tonight :-) Maybe, Yosemite !

We stopped in Independence at a nice park with green grass so Jorgie could

roll on his back :-) and of course they had to pee...

Caifornia, Here we come !

Good Morning from I-40 (California),

It's just after 10 am Tuesday morning and we have been on the road now for three hours.

It's all good :-) We're just outside of Ludlow, California.

Jack, ooops, Captain Jack, is sitting 'shot gun'. His usual spot.

Jorge is my little 'cling on' he likes to be right next to me as the coach is moving.

He's a happy guy when we stop this thing.

I will write more at the end of the day. Just wanted to post some photos for now.
